I cannot recommend Sumit Driving Academy and especially Mr.Amin enough — he is hands down the best driving instructor I’ve ever had, and the reason I passed my test so efficiently at Butler.

How Amin taught me is exactly what made him amazing:

Calm, patient & never intimidating — even when I made mistakes, he never rushed me, never raised his voice, and always stayed calm. He made me feel safe and confident from lesson 1.

Clear, simple explanations — he broke every maneuver down step-by-step ( 3-point turns, roundabouts) in ways that actually made sense. No confusing jargon, just easy-to-follow instructions.

Structured, progressive lessons — he built my skills gradually, starting with basics before moving to harder roads, busy intersections, and highway driving.

Great at correcting gently — when I messed up, he’d point it out after it was safe, explain exactly why it happened, and show me how to fix it next time.

Focused on safe, defensive driving — not just “how to pass the test,” but how to drive well for life. He taught me to anticipate hazards, check mirrors constantly, and stay aware of everything around me.

I cannot recommend Jiwan highly enough! From my very first lesson, he was incredibly calm and patient, which made a massive difference in building my confidence on the road. He has an absolute mastery of the rules of the road and explains things in a way that just clicks. On top of being a fantastic teacher, he is a genuinely funny guy—his great sense of humour completely took the edge off my nerves right before my driving test. He made sure I was feeling 100% confident before I went in and gave me a massive well-wish before the examiner stepped in. If you want an instructor who makes you feel safe, prepared, and relaxed, he is the absolute best!
